i-SeaportsTM Communications Coordination Center

i-Seaports views the communications of the seaport enterprise as the heart of the connectivity required between the port, its clients, its vendors, security, enforcement, first responders and others who play a role in the desired secure and profitable trade relations. i-Seaports has an extensive array of communications and events management capabilities that can be configured to your seaport operational requirements — traffic management, meetings, conference calls, project tracking, asset reservations, and much more.

New web-based communications solutions are emerging at a rapid pace. i-Seaports provides a platform for the future integration of these services as they become available and affordable for seaport managers.

Voice & Electronic Communication Types

Telephony
As a communications center, i-Seaports “telephony” capabilities can be enabled so that one only needs a set of telephony compatible headphones to operate their voice and fax communications from their laptop or PC. Desk, Fax, Cell, and Home (where applicable) may be configured for individuals.

Email & Text Messaging
Email notifications can be configured for each individual and for groups of individuals or agencies to execute automatically when triggered by an event—such as confirming a vessel arrival. Text messaging over the internet, cellular phones, PDAs, PCs and laptops provide near real-time capabilities where voice is not an option or available, or where written confirmation is required.

Interoperable VoIP and RoIP
Optional VoIP, RoIP and video streaming can be linked in during emergencies or made operational based on your subscription service and the access they provide. Interoperable solutions are critical for first responders, security and intelligence to be able to communicate during emergencies bringing radio, telephone, email, text-messaging and cellular all together in a proprietary platform.

Calendaring & Scheduling

Public & Private Calendars
Managing the scheduling of people, activities and use of seaport resources and avoiding conflicts is facilitated by the events scheduling controls in i-Seaports calendaring—private and published.

Resource Usage Management
When you establish a berth as a resource, and attempt to schedule its use when it is already scheduled, you are immediately warned that it is not available. The scheduling of other resources such as cranes can be managed in the same way.

Instant Notifications on Calendar Entries
Instant notifications to individuals or groups of individuals who are being scheduled for an event, whether internal employees or external relations, are also managed in the calendar scheduling process. They must then confirm their intentions to be present for the event for the schedule to become final. Reminders can be set as well. Shared calendars become an instant resource for knowing availability.

Vessel Traffic Communications Advantage

Arriving / Moving Vessels
Arriving a vessel in port and making shifts while in port requires multiple communications among the pilot, the vessel agent, security and port operations, terminal operators and stevedores .

Due Dates Alerts
When a reservation is initialized, the user is prompted for a due date by which this reservation must be confirmed. When that date arrives, the user’s dashboard lists that reservation as needing attention if it has not yet been confirmed.

Scheduling and Publishing Rotations
Vessels that call on a port on a regular schedule or rotation may be placed in queue using the copy function or the renew function, only requiring a few modifications in their expected arrival and departure times. In this manner a port client can set up their entire schedule for a year in advance if they wish, or the schedule for a ferry system can be setup and published to your web-site
