SeaAway Research Laboratories LLC, Titusville, FL USA. SeaAway has designed; patent pending, a comprehensive, “Prior-to-Port” security solution for the maritime industry known as the Sea Sentinel SystemTM. The System is comprised of three basic components, the Sea SentinelTM, the Sea HandlerTM, and the Advanced Deep Water BuoysTM. Approaching ships will be required to pass between two Sea Sentinels before sailing into port. Signals from SeaAway Container Security DevicesTM and other CSDs will be received and examined for container tampering or presence of CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosive). Anomalies will be reported immediately to the Lead Security Agency responsible for security at the port of call. The buffer zone gives the Lead Security Agency time to examine potential threats and take steps to mitigate those that are determined to be real. The Sea Sentinel SystemTM presents a unique opportunity to not only provide a much needed layer of security, but to provide commercially marketable data to shippers, ship owners, insurance companies, ports, manufacturers and retailers all while being virtually transparent to commerce. As a fully integrated system the SeaAway Sea Sentinel SystemTM provides unprecedented vessel traffic and identification, threat determination and mitigation capabilities, as well Total Maritime Domain Awareness or TMDA. Key benefits include the ability for ports and governments to comply with mandates and legislation as set forth by the IMO and government agencies worldwide. These mandates include but are not limited to Maritime Security Act of 2002; Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code, Container Security Initiative (CSI), Customs - Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), the Safe Port Act, and the Green Lane Maritime Cargo Security Act.
